Like most people I was brought into the curly horse world due to family allergies, and in 2010 I finally bought my first one, a gorgeous solid black mare named Whisper. Not long after bringing Whisper home I then purchased a second mare OYY Uptown Girl, fondly known by those who know her as Lucy. Both these ladies were by the stellar black curly stallion WCC Benjamin.
These girls were the start of my curly passion. For years I had these girls in my lesson and pony club string where they left lasting memories with the children who loved them. While they made absolutely fantastic amateur low level mounts and Whisper did compete up to Pre-Training level on the Ontario eventing circuit, that is sadly where their athleticism ran out and Thoroughbreds took their place. 

This is where the dream began to produce quality curly horses who have the potential to be competitive further up the levels. I would love to see curlies put on the map and less rare in the show ring.

In 2015 my first curly foal was born, this was my first attempt at adding in some fresh blood to beef up jumping abilities and endurance. Lucy gave me a splendid colt by the Connemara eventing sire Maplehurst Michael MacDaire. Merlin, “Warkwyn Brac Myrddin Wyllt” was everything I could have asked for except he was a colt and therefore unable to continue my vision. An excellent start regardless and he was grown, started and then sold off to a lovely woman.

After a few turbulent years, resulting in the sale of my herd and thoroughbred breeding stock I took a short break. 
I will fast forward to present time. In late 2020 I found a little red mare who is very typey for a curly and I just had to have her. Magnolia is absolutely gorgeous and quite a pleasant mover but she is only 14hh tall. Luckily I have a girlfriend who imports and breeds European quality pony stallions and so this became the avenue I would use for Magnolia. I’ve always been more of a type match breeder and would rather breed like - to - like instead of mixing sizes and body styles. These GRP stallions give me the perfect formula with Magnolia to improve on her breeding while producing something suitable for a child that is also sturdy enough for an adult.
Her 2022 filly from this crossing has not disappointed and is being retained to some day start the next generation as well as promote my breeding.
