WOW what a day! We had some massive goals achieved during our Westfalen inspection!
I am so happy to say that everyone did incredibly well and presented perfectly.
Gucci D'Oro (Gucci), my absolute superstar colt, was proudly awarded with the foal Premium and branded appropriately.
Glamour De Vie (Giovanni) also showed super well with respective scores all above 7.5 annnddd as far as I know, although he is smooth coated, he is the FIRST Curly-bred who has been branded with a recognized and respected registry!
Hopefully I will have many more to follow in the years to come. Maybe I can have some true curly coats in the next round.
Décadence D'Or (Topanga) had her registration requirements caught up and has been entered into the book. At her age she doesn’t receive scores but she received some very nice comments. “Well developed filly in good type, pretty face, good substance, good stride and elasticity, round canter.”
I am also very happy that what I had already noted for improvement is linear with what was stated today - she is short through the croup and neck. So this is where pairing her with longer framed stallions will be crucial for maximum improvement in her future offspring.
When she’s old enough and matured she can be looked at again for her mare book entry.
ICU Satin's Charmer (Satin) is in good type and frame for GRP breeding - I was told to breed this mare again. She has been entered into Mare book 1.

Oakesmuir Magnolia (Magnolia) is a solid mare with good type and substance - noted that she is short in the croup as I am aware. Again a good candidate for stallions with longer frame. She has been entered into the Pre-Mare Book.

A massive thank you to Otto who comes all the way from Germany every year to do this North American inspection tour, to Shirley for the use of her stables for a host location and to those who came to support us, watch and help out. It has been a stressful week leading up to this day but I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out.
This is absolutely huge and makes a big impact for the future of Curly horses in sport. Not only did THE German inspector make the time to come all the way north to little Beaverlodge, Alberta but he also gave my weird, fuzzy, off-breed ponies a chance.
For wb breeders this is a very normal process, and I'm sure some may roll their eyes at my excitement but for the future of sport Curlies this is a massive leap forward... Now they are on the map!
The weight of this honor is still sinking in, I am elated!
